Restaurant Reservations:

  • Most restaurants and reservation sites will allow you to make a reservation without placing a credit card down to hold the reservation.
  • Higher end, coveted restaurants will often take a credit card to hold a reservation, in rare instances, they will require a deposit.
  • There is growing interest in the restaurant industry of reservation systems that cut down on No Shows that take payment up front for a dining experience.

When you book and honor reservations through OpenTable, you can collect Dining Points. These points can be redeemed for Dining Rewards that can be put toward meals at many OpenTable restaurants. Originally started by the Michelin tire company in 1904, Michelin guide books were published a European hotel and restaurant reference guides, The Red Guide which awards up to three Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments by extremely secretive, anonymous inspectors or reviewers.
